SLAVS AND TATARS.

Slavs et Tatars est un ensemble de polémiques et d'intimités, une faction qui se consacre à une aire géographique à l'Est de l'ancien Mur de Berlin et à l'Ouest du grand Mur de Chine, aussi dénommée Eurasie. Le travail du collectif s'étend sur différents medias, diverses disciplines et un large spectre de registres culturels, pour faire le point sur une sphere d'influence souvent oubliée, entre Slaves, Caucasiens et habitants d'Asie centrale. 

Slavs and Tatars a publié: Kidnapping Mountains (Book Works, 2009), célébrant la complexité dans le Caucase; Love Me, Love Me Not: Changed Names (onestar press, 2010) et Molla Nasreddin: the magazine that would've, could've, should've (JRP-Ringier, 2011).

Slavs et Tatars a exposé à Frieze Sculpture Park, à la 10è Biennale de Sharjah, à la 8è Biennale du Mercosul et la 3è Biennale de Thessalonique. 

Leurs prochaines expositions personnelles auront notamment lieu à la Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Kiosk), Gand; à la Secession, Vienne;  au MoMA, NY et au  Künstlerhaus Stuttgart.

Slavs and Tatars is a faction of polemics and intimacies devoted to an area east of the former Berlin Wall and west of the Great Wall of China known as Eurasia. The collective’s work spans several media, disciplines, and a broad spectrum of cultural registers (high and low) focusing on an oft-forgotten sphere of influence between Slavs, Caucasians and Central Asians. Slavs and Tatars has published Kidnapping Mountains (Book Works, 2009), a celebration of complexity in the Caucasus, Love Me, Love Me Not: Changed Names (onestar press, 2010) and Molla Nasreddin: the magazine that would've, could've, should've (JRP-Ringier, 2011). Slavs and Tatars have exhibited at the Frieze Sculpture Park, the 10th Sharjah, 8th Mercosul and 3rd Thessaloniki Biennials. Upcoming solo shows include The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Kiosk), Ghent, Secession, Vienna, MoMA, NY, and Künstlerhaus Stuttgart.
